British pianist Catherine has a busy and diverse schedule of accompanying, chamber music and orchestral playing. Aside from her accompanist role at Junior Trinity, she collaborates in recitals around the UK and abroad with a number of instrumentalists and singers working her way through the vocal, string and piano trio repertoire.
An accomplished pit musician, Catherine regularly plays orchestral piano and percussion with orchestras and opera and ballet companies across London and the South East. She has worked as répétiteur for a number of Gilbert and Sullivan productions and taken part in the Tête a Tête Festival, London. In 2013 she recorded for BBC Radio 4 and appeared on the BBC children’s show Blue Peter with the National Youth Music Theatre in 2002.
Catherine completed her studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (formerly Trinity College of Music), specialising in piano accompaniment under Eugene Asti, Philip Fowke and Deniz Gelenbe. She has participated in masterclasses given by Graham Johnson and Roger Vignoles and taken part in festivals celebrating J.S. Bach, Frederic Rzewski and the songs of Richard Strauss and Franz Schubert.
An exponent of new music, Catherine enjoys collaborating with composers in helping to build new and interesting works for all types of piano chamber ensembles. Working with the London Composers Forum, she has given world premières of many works written for herself and her colleagues.
