The album includes a new arrangement of Ae fond kiss written for Jillian by Professor Paul Mealor FRSA, Classic BRIT Award-winning composer.
Originally trained as a visual artist, Jillian Bain Christie graduated from the University of Aberdeen in July 2012 with a 1st Class honours degree in Music. While in Aberdeen, Jillian was the recipient of several awards including the Chris Cadwur James Composition Prize in June 2012, and she was joint-winner of the University’s 2011 Concerto Competition.
British pianist Catherine Herriott has a busy and diverse schedule of accompanying, chamber music and orchestral playing. Aside from her accompanist role at Junior Trinity, she collaborates in recitals around the UK and abroad with a number of instrumentalists and singers working her way through the vocal, string and piano trio repertoire.
